disjointed laundry list
2002-07-02 - 7:37 p.m.

Hello all!

(Now imagine me waving Bob's paw from the window of a flying saucer, a la the final scene of Escape to Witch Mountain... I don't know why. Because I said so. *sounds of eerie mind-controlling*)

I've put in applications for eight jobs in Omaha so far, and I need to comb the classifieds again tomorrow. The plan is to go up to Omaha tomorrow evening. I'm going to go up a little bit early, since I heard that the Borders on 132nd and Maple is hiring, and I don't think that I'd mind working there for a while. It strikes me as the kind of job that I could get quickly, too. Plus, according to Prufrock (who used to work at one full-time), they give you a book allowance. Ooooooh....Book allowance. So, I'm going to go in and fill out an application. Then I can look for something that pays better.

Lots of things have been going on here, but I'm sure you know that. I should really get cracking on packing.

My apartment got shown this afternoon. That was fun. And Lori finally gave me the referral form that I asked her to get back to me ASAP. I don't think that was ASAP, since she's had it for a week. But oh well... I mean, if I'm going up there tomorrow, it's not too huge of a deal.

Oooh! I installed an ethernet card in my computer today. I hope it works. I think it's okay. The little Network Neighborhood icon popped up on my desk. But I still don't think that the computer is detecting its physical presence for some reason. If I get it up to Mike's and it doesn't work, maybe I'll swap slots with the modem and see what happens.

I'll probably go up to Omaha again on Friday in an attempt to install the kitty at the new place. I hope he likes it.

Did I mention that my cv is also up and on-line now, too? Well, it is, and I'm quite pleased. If you want to know where this stuff is, e-mail me, and I'll give you the url if I know you. And all of my application materials for the jobs at SCC are in, too.

Ooooh! "Gloria," by Laura Branigan, is on the radio.

Shut up.

fin.
