Jobs I have known I did, in fact, get rejected from the PhD program at UW. This is a good thing, since it kept me from having to make a decision. I interviewed for an assistant manager job today. I'm pretty sure that I got it. I imagine that I'll find out tomorrow. I have my last round of food articles to write, and I'm ignoring them. I'm not sure why, since it's an easy $250. I just felt a bit like I was grasping during the last round. There are only so many ways to describe palatability, digestibility, simplicity or complexity in relation to pet foods. I have to say, this is definitely on my weird jobs list now: pet food writer, pet food plant worker, internet help desk tech, medical instrument sterilization worker, TSR for a catalog novelty company, bus boy, grocery bagger, and...I admit it...I worked for WalMart for three days. That's the only job I've ever had to take a drug test to get. And it was probably the worst job, too. It was a Super WalMart--I stocked groceries. Well, mostly I watched training modules, but I did spend several hours stocking. In light of my overall work history, I suppose it only makes sense that I'm in one of the weirder, more marginalized fields of theatre. Off to work. fin.
